While Cucurella is a better outside defender, I wanted Nakamura for his offensive talents, pushing the ball up field. Nakamura is more of an outside midfielder but it is my theory than second-rate forwards and outside mids can be turned into outside defenders. However, I went with Cucurella who is very dependable. Like most Spanish players, Cucurella is not much of a star player; they're more team-oriented. Hence, Spain is more of a great side with collective talent but not many out and out stars (in terms of like Messi or Mbappe).

Rodri and Frenkie de Jong were obviously in contention for the midfield spots, I mean hello; they're arguably better than Alvarado (Mexico) and Gordon (England); however, Alvarado and Gordon have a knack, watch out for them. With Alvarado, there's always something about an attacking player that can create a little chaos and then get out of it with shifty skill; it's like he's luring you into his world and you're falling for it every time; he's a talent. Gordon is just plain good; he's skillful, quick, fast, with great insight; he was responsible for a couple key assists; when he's on the ball, something good is going to happen; I would take Gordon any day of the week.
