About the Author

Shane Stay is a bestselling author whose books include This Is Our CITY, THE World Cup 2022 Book, The Euro 2020, European Soccer Leagues 2019, THE Women's World Cup 2019 Book, Major League Soccer 2019, THE World Cup 2018 Book, Why American Soccer Isn't There Yet, and The Cairo Project. In 2008, Stay founded Leaf Dressing, co-authored a print book, published a magazine story, worked clubs as a comedian, played restaurateur, professional soccer and received a Master of Arts. In 1999 he created the first online Current Events Game, CE Game. A southern Illinois native, Stay was featured in the Tourism Times of Illinois as part of their Made in Illinois South edition, Fall 2017. He has appeared on TV and featured on numerous radio broadcasts including ESPN and NPR. Stay has a Bachelors in History from Sonoma State University, a Masters in Communications from Southern Illinois University and likely listening to his song of the day, usually something 80s (YouTube link).
