For the first game of 2017, Bruce Arena made his return as coach of the US.
Despite being a boring game, it was a satisfactory tie. Bruce can relax; given the drama from recent defeats and the dramatic coaching turnover, a loss would've been horrendous.
As critical as I've been of Bruce in the past, it will be intriguing to see how the "new Bruce" progresses. In regards to the lineup, it seemed as if he said "Let's replace Kljestan with...Klestan." Criticism aside, only time will tell if a truly new lineup emerges.
Outside of my wish to see a new coach, it's exciting to have Arena back, and hopefully he'll take the team to new levels.
