Great Things I Saw This Week, 2

1. CNN, Fox, MSNBC.
2. NBA on TNT, not ESPN.
3. The deposit check from my landlord.
4. Larry Sanders on DVD.
5. Mark Cuban might be a Vice President. Sure, why not.
6. Wise words from Mike Greenberg. Is that even possible, one might ask. He might be one of those people...Sometimes an injured athlete having a bad game can point to the injury - like a sprained ankle or knee - as a "reason" for a bad performance and not an "excuse." Someone from the old school might counter by saying, "If you're good enough to play, there ain't no excuses." That's fine, but when a fan base is pressuring an injured player to play, feeling like the team would be better with a hurt star player, there are more dimensions to the argument.
7. Manchester United winning the FA Cup. Good for them, they need the money.
8. Time Bandits on DVD.
9. Ancient Aliens suggests that the number 3 is evidence aliens have visited us here on earth...Sure, why not. Because, after all, since Tesla worshipped the number 3, and since he was a genius, "aliens" must have given him that special insight.
10. Based on the success of episodes such as "Number 3" the Ancient Aliens show is hosting Alien Con, their version of Comic Con. It will be hosted in Santa Clara, California.
11. Kobe Bryant endorsed the 2016 Copa America on Fox Sports. All the more reason the majority of people choose Michael Jordan in the pound for pound comparison of the all-time best player. On paper, Jordan's the clear winner, with one more league title and three league MVPs to Kobe's one. (That's tricky, considering that during the Tim Duncan MVP run Kobe and Shaq were taking away points from each other, competing on the same team.) Yet, many people over the years have noted that Kobe was a better dribbler, with a touch more creativity to his game. Though, they quickly point out that Jordan was probably a better defender. Regardless, Kobe's association with soccer and his ability to speak fluent Italian makes him "not American enough" to be regarded as being better than Jordan, who, during the late 90s was asked what he thought about fellow Nike man Ronaldo, of Brazil (who at the time was the best soccer player in the world.) Jordan didn't know who he was. And his response might have been, "Who?" That-a-way to keep it American MJ. Thus, he will forever have the edge over Kobe in the debate of greatest player in NBA history.
12. NBA Finals.
13. Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Michael Caine, Steve Martin, 1988.
