A popular debate has arisen: Should USWNT players get equal pay to that of the USMNT players?
I was asked about this topic on KSRO radio during the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup. The games were underway in France and I was explaining on the radio that the US women had made some progress, such as hotel accommodations, but more was on the table to sort out. As CNN reported (on 7-7-19), the USWNT members have been in the process of potentially getting more pay. For example, had the USMNT won the World Cup (good luck, but just go with it here), each male player would have earned more than what each female player received from winning the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
